PhD in health economics and decision science at the University of Sheffield, UK

Elvis Wambiya is a trained epidemiologist, health economist, and decision modeller with interest in the application of decision modelling to inform the implementation of effective, scalable and sustainable interventions for health system strengthening in the prevention and management of chronic diseases in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). He holds a bachelors honors degree in Biochemistry from the University of Karachi, Pakistan; a Masters degree in Epidemiology from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa; and recently completed his PhD in health economics and decision science at the University of Sheffield, UK funded by the Wellcome Trust. He has vast experience implementing and evaluating projects in  infectious disease and non-communicable disease prevention, management, and health systems strengthening in LMICs. Currently, he works as a postdoctoral research scientist at the African Population and Health Research Centre, Nairobi.e  At the house of statistics, he plays an advisory role on health economics and statistics, and mentors young and upcoming global health researchers.
